According to the committee, the plan was to massively increase the importance of the USA for the crypto industry. The politicians eligible to vote wanted to implement US President Donald Trump&#8217;s demand to make the United States of America the crypto center of the world.  <\/p>\n<p>However, too many members of the lower house refused to comply with these demands. Almost all representatives of the Democratic Party voted against the three laws yesterday \u2013 210 people in number. A further two abstentions came from the Democratic side.  <\/p>\n<p>Republican MPs mostly approved the laws. However, the 196 yes votes were not enough to pass the crypto laws. 13 Republicans voted against the laws. The US House of Representatives has a majority of 220 Republican MPs, who usually approve of the plans of the equally Republican government. <\/p>\n<p>In addition, all three regulations had already received support from Democratic politicians in the past. CoinPro only reported on the draft laws on Monday. <\/p>\n<p>GENIUS Act, CLARITY Act and Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act were intended to ensure more transparency, institutional availability and state recognition of crypto. The crypto industry in particular is considered to be a beneficiary of the regulations. <\/p>\n<p>Opponents from the Republican ranks come primarily from the conservative wing of the Freedom Caucus. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a former member of this internal party group, stated on X that she was dissatisfied with the exact wording of the GENIUS Act. <\/p>\n<p>In order to be able to pass the stablecoin law in good conscience, it must explicitly contain a CDBC ban. Adjustments to the draft were blocked by the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cAmericans don&#8217;t want a government-controlled central bank digital currency. This was also one of the three laws that were voted on. Greene assumes that this is not sufficient.  <\/p>\n<p>Greene is not the only politician to express such criticism. Her Republican colleague <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/house-republican-hard-liners-defy-trump-speaker-johnson\/story?id=123780190\">Anna Paulina Luna suspects<\/a> that the laws are written in such a way that they allow CBDCs through a back door. <\/p>\n<p>Other Republicans want to combine the three crypto regulations in order to give Congress more political power and therefore blocked the adoption.<\/p>\n<h2>That&#8217;s why Democrats Reject the US Crypto Laws<\/h2>\n<p>Representatives of the Democratic Party <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2025\/07\/14\/congress\/house-dems-crypto-bills-waters-clark-french-hill-00451763\">justify their no votes<\/a> with their general criticism, which they have been expressing for years about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coinpro.ch\/en\/knowledge\/what-are-cryptocurrencies-explanation-for-beginners\/\">cryptocurrencies<\/a> and the associated industry.<\/p>\n<p>There is no consumer protection. In addition, national security risks arise from an increasing spread of cryptocurrencies.
