CZ Expects Bitcoin Supercycle: Will More Gains Follow in 2026?
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) expects a Bitcoin supercycle – the entrepreneur announced this today in a conversation at the Bitcoin Mena conference in Abu Dhabi.
A so-called supercycle is when the price breaks the usual conditions and writes unusually long profits. The importance of certain conditions, which are usually decisive, recedes into the background – such as the Bitcoin halving.
In the meantime, the market situation has changed so much that the usual development of the Bitcoin price in four-year cycles is no longer obvious, according to CZ.

“This cycle is different from previous cycles. We are currently experiencing institutional entries – through Wall Street and so on. In this cycle, a particularly large number of institutions have been added, while private investors were otherwise dominant.”
Zhao assesses this development as positive. This could consolidate crypto and increasingly be used as a financial investment. So far, Bitcoin and Co. have appeared more as financial policy movements.
“The support is growing significantly. I think that’s fantastic,” CZ summarizes.
Brandon Green is not very impressed by the current market situation. According to the scheme of the four-year cycle, the Bitcoin price should currently be experiencing the peak of the bull market. Instead, the cryptocurrency remains behind many expectations.
“We should be in the year of a massive bull market, but Bitcoin remains relatively flat. Is the four-year cycle dead?” Green asked.
Zhao’s answer: The previous four-year Bitcoin cycle is probably over now. The influence of political forces on the crypto market is now too great – especially through US President Donald Trump.
The Chinese entrepreneur therefore expects a supercycle. Accordingly, a bull market could continue until 2026 or even beyond. Normally, after this year’s peak, the crypto winter would have been expected – a phase of drastic corrections.
“This force could be large enough to disrupt the four-year cycle. (…) We could see a supercycle from 2026. I’m not sure.”

What a supercycle means for BTC
CZ considers the start of a supercycle to be an advantage over the classic cycle. Usually, a long phase of correction follows a price rally. During this time, the crypto market weakens sharply. Without a four-year cycle, the long-term downturn no longer threatens the market.
“It’s better if the four-year cycle is eliminated. (…) In this cycle, the crypto winter lasts one to two years.”
In the supercycle, new factors define the Bitcoin price – such as institutional demand or new political developments around Bitcoin reserves or government openings.
Currently, the potential of the crypto market is huge, as several important elements come together, according to CZ. The digital assets are thus experiencing support from the Trump cabinet. Its political measures are affecting other states.
In addition, a strong stock market could have an impact on further profits. While the stock market is making profits, investors could provide enough capital for diversification into crypto, according to Zhao. The S&P 500 is up about 13.11 percent in the annual trend.
