ICO / Initial Coin Offering

ICOs, or Initial Coin Offerings, are often referred to as the equivalent of a classic IPO in the crypto market. As part of an ICO, i.e. the initial issuance of new currencies, publishers offer investors the chance to become first-hour buyers. In the past, however, ICOs have also promoted a lot of fraud and scam projects. This is because, unlike classic IPOs, there are no regulatory requirements or bodies. In addition to the ICO, there is also STO or EIO as a way for crypto companies to raise capital.
