Coins

Digital currencies that are independently used for payments on the Internet are called coins.

What is the Difference between Coins and Tokens?

It is important to note that coins function independently of other systems and have their own platforms. Examples of coins include Bitcoin or the currency Ether used in the Ethereum network.

Coins should not be confused with tokens, even if the term is regularly used synonymously. Tokens do not have their own platform, but are based on the technology of a third-party blockchain. This applies, for example, to all ERC20 tokens that are based on the Ethereum blockchain.
